The EDIC (European Diploma in Intensive Care) is the postgraduate diploma awarded by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). It certifies that a doctor has met the CoBaTrICE competencies for adult Intensive Care Medicine and is recognised across many European centres. The EDIC runs in two parts: Part 1 is a computer-based multiple-choice paper, and Part 2 is a clinical/OSCE assessment. The diploma is open to ICM-trained doctors worldwide and is a common route alongside or instead of national exams such as the UK FCICM (formerly FFICM).
