Frequently asked questions about DocteurQuiz
How do I create a quiz from A to Z?
To create a quiz, log in to your account then click on the 'Create' button in the left sidebar. Give your quiz a name, add an optional description and choose the content type: Quiz (with grading), Survey (no correct answer) or Poll (data collection). Then add your questions by clicking 'Add a question'. You can choose from several types: MCQ, True/False, Free text, Satisfaction scale, etc. For each question, define the possible answers and tick the correct answer(s). Configure your quiz settings: learn mode (show explanations after each answer), anonymous mode, custom colours, difficulty level, and custom end text. You can also add a cover image and a category to better organise your content. Once your quiz is ready, share it via a unique link, a QR code, by email or by embedding it on your website. You can also schedule it for deferred sending or publish it to the community to make it accessible to everyone.
How do I create a quiz with artificial intelligence?
Click on 'Create with AI' from the sidebar. Describe your topic in a few sentences and the AI will automatically generate a complete quiz with relevant questions. You can also import documents (PDF, Excel, images) as source content for even more accurate generation. Customise the generation by choosing the number of questions per type (MCQ, True/False, etc.), the desired difficulty level, and by enabling options such as automatic image search, generation of learn mode explanations or video search. AI generation consumes NeuroCoins (credits). Once the quiz is generated, you can freely modify, delete or add questions manually. The generated quiz is fully editable and belongs to you.
What types of questions are available?
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) allow you to propose several answers with one or more correct answers. True/False presents a single statement to validate. Multiple True/False (MTF) presents several statements to evaluate simultaneously as true or false. Free text allows the participant to write a text, take a photo, record audio or select a video as an answer. Survey works like an MCQ but without a defined correct answer, ideal for collecting opinions. The Satisfaction scale offers a rating from 1 to 10 to measure a satisfaction level. Points-type questions allow different weights to be assigned to each answer for advanced scoring. Finally, collection fields (first name, last name) can be added to identify participants.
How do I add media to questions?
Each question can be enriched with media. When creating or modifying a question, you can add an image (upload from your device or integrated search), an audio file, or a video to illustrate your question. Media displays directly in the quiz for participants, making the experience more interactive and engaging. Common formats are supported (JPEG, PNG, MP3, MP4, etc.). When generating with AI, you can enable automatic image and video search.
How do free text questions work?
Free text questions offer four response modes: text only (traditional writing), photo only (take a photo or upload from gallery with integrated search), audio only (live voice recording), or video only (selection from a library). Free text answers are not automatically graded. You can assess them manually by assigning a score from 0 to 5 points, or use AI for an automatic grading suggestion. All media responses (photos, audios, videos) can be viewed from the results interface.
What settings can I configure on my quiz?
You have many customisation options: learn mode displays explanations after each answer, anonymous mode allows participants to answer without entering their email, and the 'show results' option controls whether participants see their score at the end. Customise the appearance with custom colours, add a cover image, define custom end text, and choose a difficulty level from 5 levels (Very easy, Easy, Medium, Difficult, Very difficult). You can also add an internal reference to facilitate organisation. Associate your quiz with a category to better find and organise it. Categories are customisable and allow you to quickly filter your content from the quiz list.
What is learn mode?
Learn mode transforms your quiz into a real learning tool. When enabled, after each participant's answer, a detailed explanation is displayed to explain why the answer is correct or incorrect. To use this feature, enable learn mode in the quiz settings, then add an explanation to each of your questions when creating or modifying them. Explanations can contain detailed text to explore the topic further.
How does the points and scoring system work?
By default, each question awards 5 points for a correct answer. You can customise the number of points per question to weight certain more important or more difficult questions differently. For 'Points' type questions, each answer can have a different weight, allowing advanced scoring (for example: +3 for the best answer, +1 for an acceptable answer, 0 for a neutral answer). The final score is calculated as a percentage of the maximum possible score. Survey questions, Satisfaction scale and collection fields (first name, last name) do not count towards the score calculation. Free text answers require manual or AI-assisted grading.
What is the difference between a quiz, a survey and a poll?
A Quiz is an assessment tool with correct and incorrect answers. Participants receive a score at the end and can compare their performances. It's ideal for training, knowledge assessments and tests. A Survey collects opinions without any notion of correct or incorrect answer. Survey-type questions do not impact the score. It's perfect for gathering feedback, measuring satisfaction or collecting experience reports. You can combine all three in the same content: for example, start with identification questions (first name/last name), followed by graded quiz questions, then finish with a satisfaction survey. This flexibility allows you to create complete pathways adapted to all needs.
How do I send the quiz?
Once your content is created, you can share it via an automatically generated unique link. The share icon in the form of a QR code allows you to share via QR code, via a link or by integration on your website. Participants can access your content directly without registration, which facilitates participation.
What is the difference between private and public mode?
In private mode (default), your quiz is only accessible via a direct link, email or QR code that you share. You maintain full control over who can access it. Participations in private mode count towards your subscription limit. In public mode, your quiz is submitted for validation by our team then published in the community, visible and accessible by all users. Participations in public quizzes do NOT count towards your subscription limit, which is a major advantage. To switch to public mode, your quiz must meet certain criteria: minimum 5 questions, all questions must have correct answers, content must be appropriate and respect copyright. It is recommended to add images and explanations to maximise validation chances. Warning: a public quiz cannot be modified whilst it is online. To modify it, you must first switch it back to private mode, make your changes, then submit the publication request again.
How do I embed a quiz on an external website?
You can embed your quiz directly into a website via an iframe code. From your quiz's share icon (QR code), select the integration option to obtain the code to copy-paste into your web page. The quiz will display directly on your website with an integrated and smooth experience for participants. This feature is ideal for training sites, corporate intranets, or educational blogs. A quiz identifier (Course ID) is also available for integration with tools such as Canva.
How do I schedule sending a quiz?
The sending scheduler allows you to schedule the distribution of your quizzes at a specific date and time. Access the 'Scheduler' section in the left sidebar to manage all your scheduled sends. When scheduling, enter the participants' email addresses (one per line or separated by commas), choose the sending date and time, and customise the email content (subject, image, description). You can also enable automatic reminders. The scheduler gives you an overview of all your sends: pending, in progress and completed. You can track in real-time the number of participants who have responded and cancel a scheduled send if necessary.
Can I customise the emails sent to participants?
You now have complete control over the content of emails sent to your participants. Three options are available when sending your quizzes immediately or scheduled. You can choose whether or not to include the quiz image in the email, show or hide the description, and customise the email subject with your own text. If no custom subject is defined, a default subject including the quiz name will be used automatically. All shared quizzes benefit from a new modern email design with difficulty indicator in the form of coloured bars and optimised layout for engagement.
How do automatic reminders work?
An automatic reminder system is available to encourage participation in quizzes shared by email. When scheduling a send, you can enable up to two successive reminders that will only be sent to people who have not yet responded. The first reminder can be scheduled from 1 to 30 days after the initial send, whilst the second reminder follows a few days later with a more urgent tone. The system automatically detects in real-time participants who have completed the quiz and removes them instantly from reminder lists, thus avoiding any unnecessary sending. This feature is particularly useful for professional training, educational assessments or surveys requiring a high participation rate.
How do live interactive quizzes work?
The interactive quiz is designed for a real-time learning experience. The organiser launches the quiz from their interface and participants join via a room code or QR code. Once the quiz is launched, no new participant can join the current session to maintain game fairness. Each quiz session has a validity period of 2 hours. This means that room codes and QR codes cannot be prepared in advance. For each question, participants have 30 seconds to answer. If no answer is submitted within this time, the question is automatically considered unanswered. The points system is fixed per question: each correct answer awards the number of points defined for the question (default 5 points). Response speed does not influence the number of points obtained. The host has several options to customise the quiz experience: anonymous mode to hide participants' identity during responses and choice to display real-time statistics or only at the end. The participant interface is deliberately simplified: participants only see the current question with its associated media (images or audio if present) and the answer choices. At the end of the quiz, they access the final results podium if enabled in the organiser's options. The organiser's interface is more comprehensive: visualisation of connected participants, real-time response statistics, quiz pace control and performance overview. It is recommended to display it on a screen for participants. Results are automatically saved in your interface as you are accustomed to with standard quizzes. For each question, the organiser can see live response statistics, including the number of responses received and the distribution of choices. This data can be displayed anonymously according to the chosen settings.
How do I view a participant's results?
Access your dashboard and select the relevant quiz to see detailed results. You can filter by period (1h, 24h, 48h, 7 days, all) and hide unfinished results. Click on a participant to view their answers question by question, media sent, response time and detailed score. You can also search for a participant by name or email.
What does a participant's result sheet contain?
The participant's result sheet displays their overall score (in points and percentage), a question-by-question summary with answers given and corrections, as well as learn mode explanations if the mode is enabled. The participant can see their ranking amongst all respondents, a score distribution graph, the general average and their percentile. This comparison information activates automatically from 2 participants. On the creator side, the results interface offers a detailed view of each participant: individual responses, media sent (photos, audios, videos), response time, and the ability to manually grade free text answers.
How do I export results to CSV or PDF?
From your quiz results page, you can export all data in CSV format (spreadsheet) for detailed analysis in Excel, Google Sheets or any other tool. The CSV contains all answers, scores, times and participant information. PDF export generates a formatted summary of results, practical for archiving or sharing with stakeholders. Both options are accessible via the export buttons at the top of the results page.
How do I grade free text answers?
Free text answers (text, photo, audio, video) are not automatically graded and appear with a 'to assess' indicator in your results interface. Click on an answer to open it and manually assign a score from 0 to 5 points. AI-assisted grading is also available: the AI analyses the participant's answer and suggests a score based on the question asked. You can accept, modify or ignore the suggestion. The participant's score is automatically recalculated after grading.
Can participants compare their performances?
Result sheets now display a performance comparison allowing participants to position their points score in relation to others. A distribution graph visually presents the ranking with three indicators: personal score, general average and rank. The comparison activates automatically from 2 participants and updates in real-time as new participants complete the quiz. This feature allows participants to position themselves whilst maintaining the possibility of anonymous participation if configured by the quiz creator.
How does collaboration work?
You can share your quizzes with other users by granting them customised access rights. Two permission levels are available: read-only (view only) or edit (full access to edit). Sharing is done by email from your quiz's action bar. If the account does not exist, the person will automatically receive an invitation email. An action history is also accessible to track who modified what and when. A real-time detection system prevents simultaneous modifications. When a user edits a question or quiz, other collaborators are immediately informed. Public quizzes cannot be modified and must first be switched back to private mode.
How do I track modification history?
Each quiz has a complete modification history accessible from its settings. You can see who modified what and when, which is particularly useful in collaborative mode. The history includes quiz modifications (settings, title, description) as well as question additions, modifications and deletions. Each entry indicates the responsible user and the exact modification date.
How does the public quiz community work?
The community is a space where all users can discover and participate in public quizzes created by other members. Access it via the 'Community' section in the left sidebar. You can browse quizzes by category and difficulty level, try them directly, or duplicate them to your own account to customise and reuse them. Public quizzes are free and participations do not count towards your subscription limit.
How do I publish my quiz to the community?
To publish a quiz, access its settings and enable public visibility. Your quiz will be submitted for validation by our team to verify content quality, copyright compliance and question relevance. Your quiz must contain at least 5 questions with correctly defined correct answers. To maximise your validation chances, add a cover image, images to questions, learn mode explanations and define a difficulty level. After submission, your quiz will go through a 'Pending validation' status. Once approved, it will be visible by the entire community. If refused, you will receive a reason and can make the necessary corrections before submitting again.
Where can I find my invoices and manage my subscription?
Go to the 'Usage' section accessible from the menu. You will find a summary of your consumption and your current subscription. To access your invoices, click the Stripe button in this section. You will be redirected to your Stripe billing portal where you can view, download your invoices in PDF format and manage your payment method.
